My mom may be considering it, and I think its a safer choice than a pill or patch. If she were to go cold turkey, what are some tips that would make it easier?

always keep a pack of gum in your pocket or wherever you normally keep your ciggs. Get rid of all ash trays. Keep tooth picks in your pocket.

After 3 days the nicotine in her system is gone and she is no longer physically addicted. After that till the end of 30 days its a mental addiction. She feels she needs it cause she is so use to having a cig at certain times of the day, or when she is stressed or drinking or whatever the case may be.
